Leading up to his inaugural season in the WHL last year, Calgary native Blair Oneschuk used the ShotTec Training Device every day for three straight years. He practiced diligently in his family’s basement, performing 310 repetitions forehand and 310 repetitions backhand, on “Level 5”.
The 2013-14 season was Blair Oneschuk’s first with the Spokane Chiefs. In only his second game, Oneschuk scored his first career goal against the Victoria Royals on September 24th. Blair is a speedy, hard-working centerman with a wicked shot!
A year prior to joining the Chiefs, Blair played for the Olds Grizzlies of the AJHL where he won “Rookie of the Year” honours.
Blair’s favourite quote and the motto he lives by is:
“People who say they are good at something, probably aren’t, because those who have true talent don’t need to verbalize it, they prove it.”
More about ShotTec:
“The game of hockey is very complex when it comes to training. Your goal is to isolate muscle groups using resistance for the small muscles. I’m convinced when you use a lot of force, your technique will be lost. With the ShotTec device you can find success in a short amount of time, improving strength in the core, forearms, shoulders, and helping develop muscle memory that perfects their quick release. ShotTec is the best I’ve seen to isolate the small muscle groups for the perfect wrist shot.”
